Auto Repair

Auto repair, as defined by Wikipedia, “is a mechanic with a variety of automobile makes or either in a specific area or in a specific make of automobile. In repairing cars, their main role is to diagnose the problem accurately and quickly. They often have to quote prices for their customers before commencing work or after partial disassembly for inspection. Their job may involve the repair of a specific part or the replacement of one or more parts as assemblies.”

At Peak Auto located next to the Cary Auto Mall on US-64 W., we believe that auto repair can be more specifically defined by the driver or consumer, YOU! What are your short and long term goals for the car, SUV, or Minivan? What are your major concerns. If you do not use your Air conditioner in the summer and are more of a free spirit who likes to drive with the windows down all the time, then maybe fixing your A/C is not a top priority. If you just have a baby, you are probable more concerned about tire tread and brake pad thickness, then you are about a coolant flush.

Is your engine making squealing sound when you first start it in the morning? Do you hear rattling under the hood while driving? Is there an annoying vibration when you go over bumps? These symptoms can easily be traced back to a mechanical/physical problem. AT Peak Auto we are happy to listen to you explain your concerns, tailor a repair around your budget, and get you back on the road quickly. If you can not drive you vehicle in, we can help you arrange a tow-truck to pick up you vehicle even if you are not with it.

Starting your car in the morning and hearing a load screech, not the guy from “Saved by the Bell”, but a noise coming form under your hood. This is usually caused by a loose belt or pulley bearing that is going bad. On most newer cars, SUV’s, and Minivan’s belts do not have an adjustment, instead they relly on a belt tensioner or have a stretch belt. The drive belt tensioner has a spring in it that pushed against the belt, giving it just the right amount of tension. The tensioner’s spring will wear-out in time and replacing it can solve this issue. Stretch drive belts are just what they sound like, They are difficult to put on, but once they are they provide all the tension needed to turn the pulleys on your power steering pump, A/C compressor, alternator, and water pump. If a bearing in one of your pulleys is the cause of your misery, we can isolate it using a stethoscope and replace it for you.
